2017 Regional Community Investments
Andeavor in Action. Take a look at some examples we’re particularly proud of:
Contra Costa County Economic Partnership — Discover Engineering
The Discover Engineering program impacts 250 high-school students year-over-year by introducing them to careers in engineering. The program’s multifaceted approach encourages meaningful transition into higher education.
Contra Costa County Fire Protection District — Gas Detection Equipment
Every year, firefighters respond to hundreds of reported gas leaks and odor investigations. This grant helps first responders address these emergencies by equipping them with potentially life-saving tools to detect hazardous gases in the air.
The Gardens at Heather Farm Youth Education Natural Science Programs
This grant helps teach more than 6,000 elementary school students about natural science topics such as geology, plants and seeds, composting and ecology.
Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano — Scare Away Hunger
Supported by Andeavor Foundation and organized in partnership with the food bank and more than 100 local high-school students, this food drive held on Halloween night collected a record 16,000 pounds of food and more than $3,000 in donations.
